It's not every day that Mansory builds a car without using colors that scream.
You probably all know Mansory for how crazy it is about cars. Not just any cars, but expensive ones that some people would rather leave alone. But for those who want more, Mansory will go over the top and give them something different, whether it's through overly designed body kits or loud colors.
But this song for the Mercedes-AMG SL63 is not one of them. Mansory's version of the top-down AMG SL is surprisingly quiet and could be mistaken for a tasteful tune at first glance.
At first glance, Mansory's work on the AMG SL shows that the company didn't hold back when it came to giving the 2+2 GT a wild makeover, at least in terms of body kits. The three-pointed star has been replaced with Mansory's own roundel. The front bumper has been changed and now has copper-like accents. Carbon fiber parts surround the redesigned air vents, as well as the front bumper spoiler and the side mirror housing.
The story's the same at the rear. The spoiler, diffuser, and several bumper elements are all given a carbon fiber makeover lined with copper accents. To top things off, Mansory said 22-inch wheels are available in various designs. Inside, it appears the tuning firm equipped the AMG SL63 with white upholstery, which includes seatbelts.
Mansory doesn't just work on the outside and inside of the convertible. The German tuner's announcement of the build doesn't say much, other than that it will be available in two performance levels, P720 and P850.
That means that Mansory has tuned the AMG SL63 to have between 720 and 850 PS, which is a lot more power than the car had when it left the factory. The AMG SL63's twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 makes 577 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, which, based on our review, are not weak numbers. Mansory's tune is said to make the AMG SL63 go from 0 to 62 miles per hour (100 km/h) in just 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 206 miles per hour (332 km/h).
Mansory didn't say how much this build would cost, but if you know the brand, you know it won't be cheap at all.
